Client News: Aversa PR Opens Office During East Passyunk's Weekend of Triple Fun

Hot on the heels of last week’s record-breaking Craft Beer Day and La Festa, East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) triples the fun this coming weekend with Second Saturday, Antique and Vintage Flea Market and South Philly Fest. Festivities also include the grand opening block party for Aversa PR and Frontstretch.com. 

The fun starts early Saturday morning with the Antique and Vintage Flea Market that returns with 60+ vendors selling antiques, collectibles, vintage furniture, jewelry, clothing and accessories. After shopping, enjoy sales, free make-overs, pop-up shop, art openings, receptions, tastings and sales at more than a dozen merchants and businesses.The festivities even include a ‘baby shower’ for East Passyunk’s precious new arrival, Cloth at 1605 East Passyunk Avenue.The fun continues into the night with circus performances, DJ, food and drink at grand opening of Aversa PR at 12^th and East Passyunk.

On Sunday, there’s no rest with the return of South Philly Fest by Lucky 13 and Sweet Jane Vintage, featuring a free outdoor concert with seven live bands, great shopping, food and drink specials. The Antique and Vintage Flea Market will return to the 1600 block parking lot between Tasker and Morris from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.  More than 60 vendors will feature antiques, collectibles, vintage furniture, jewelry, clothing and accessories, glassware, pottery and much more. Held in and around the municipal lot on the 1600 Block of East Passyunk Avenue between Morris & Tasker. The GPS address is 1630 East Passyunk Avenue. The event is organized by Philadelphia Flea Markets. Admission is free. Family-friendly shopping for all ages. The rain date is Sunday, June 9, 2013.

East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) serves up a double dose of summertime fun with two festivals on Sunday, June 2, 2013.  Starting at 11:00 AM, Philly Beer Week kicks off with 15 hours of craft beer events during Craft Beer Day.  East Passyunk restaurants and retailers will present opportunities to meet the brewers, try new craft beers, enjoy beer-infused foods, and shop for beer-related gifts.  Starting at Noon, Italian National Day Festival “La Festa Della Repubblica” will feature a full day of live music, Italian draft and bottled beer specials, Italian food vendors, kids’ activities and a spaghetti eating contest.  La Festa activities are held on East Passyunk Avenue, between Mifflin and Moore streets.  Events are held rain or shine.  Admission is free, unless otherwise noted. Drunkin’ Cupcake Has Elvis ‘All Shook Up’

Ms Goody Cupcake (1838 East Passyunk Avenue, Philadelphia, PA) debuts new beer-infused desserts to sweeten up Philly Beer Week. Between now and Sunday, June 9, 2013, baker/owner Gigi Andrew puts a spin on her best selling Elvis cupcake with the Drunkin’ Elvis featuring a banana chocolate chip cake, infused with Wells Banana Bread Beer, topped with peanut butter buttercream, and accented with chocolate covered bacon. Additionally, Andrew debuts the Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwich with oatmeal and peanut butter cookies, infused with Wells Banana Bread Beer, filled with peanut butter buttercream.

On June 2, Ms Goody Cupcake will open for Sunday hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM with fifty cents off all cupcakes, beer-infused cake truffles and two additional Philly Beer Week flavors.  The popular Youngs Double Chocolate Stout cupcake will return with a beer-infused chocolate cake and buttercream. Dîner en Blanc will return to Philadelphia in the summer of 2013 for another evening filled with magic, food, fashion, art and music. Organizers of the pop-up picnic in white will announce the official date in mid-to-late May. In anticipation, the wait list is now open at philadelphia.dinerenblanc.info. As of 2:00 PM, over 1,000 people have already flooded the website and added their names to receive an official invitation. The wait list does not guarantee a spot to Dîner Blanc Philadelphia. It does ensure that wait list members will be notified when slots for the event go on sale in early summer.

Client News: Fly School Circus Arts Presents Grand Finale Trapeze Show During PIFA

Fly School Circus Arts presents a high-flying grand finale to their participation in the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA). Tonight and tomorrow night, Fly School presents two first ever flying trapeze shows within the boundaries of Center City. "Daringly High" performances will take place on Thursday, April 25 and Friday, April 26, 2013 at 8:00 PM in the University of the Arts Parking Lot on Broad Street (between Spruce and Pine streets, across from the Kimmel Center). Professional faculty and advanced students will present works that celebrate a moment in time dating back to 1965 when model Jean Shrimpton helped change the face of women’s fashion and challenged female roles in society. Announced performers include Fly School Director Mary Kelly Rayel, Caitlyn Larsson, Donovan Chandler and Christine Landon. All professional performers will do tricks and exhibit skills without a safety harness as they fly 25 feet in the air. Admission is $10.00 at the gate for a spot inside the parking lot. Best viewing spots are expected to go early, and tickets are first come, first served until they sell out. Trapeze shows come hot on the heels of dozens of sold-out classes during the 2013 PIFA. As of today, all trapeze classes are sold out through closing day. Future enhancements to the new space will include the installation of a custom-designed greenscaping that is being funded by a sustainable business grant from The Merchant’s Fund. The grant also will provide resources for a new table and equipment, as well as a rebranding campaign.
