Hot on the heels of last week’s record-breaking Craft Beer Day and
La Festa, East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) triples
the fun this coming weekend with Second Saturday, Antique and Vintage Flea
Market and South Philly Fest. Festivities also include the grand opening block party for Aversa PR and Frontstretch.com.
The fun starts early Saturday morning with the Antique and Vintage Flea Market that returns with 60+ vendors selling antiques, collectibles, vintage furniture, jewelry, clothing and accessories. After shopping, enjoy sales, free make-overs, pop-up shop, art openings, receptions, tastings and sales at more than a dozen merchants and businesses.The festivities even include a ‘baby shower’ for East Passyunk’s precious new arrival, Cloth at 1605 East Passyunk Avenue.The fun continues into the night with circus performances, DJ, food and drink at grand opening of Aversa PR at 12th and East Passyunk.
On Sunday, there’s no rest with the return of South Philly Fest by Lucky 13 and Sweet Jane Vintage, featuring a free outdoor concert with seven live bands, great shopping, food and drink specials. The Antique and Vintage Flea Market will return to the 1600 block parking lot between Tasker and Morris from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. More than 60 vendors will feature antiques, collectibles, vintage furniture, jewelry, clothing and accessories, glassware, pottery and much more. East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) serves up a double dose of summertime fun with two festivals on Sunday, June 2, 2013. Starting at 11:00 AM, Philly Beer Week kicks off with 15 hours of craft beer events during Craft Beer Day. East Passyunk restaurants and retailers will present opportunities to meet the brewers, try new craft beers, enjoy beer-infused foods, and shop for beer-related gifts. Starting at Noon, Italian National Day Festival “La Festa Della Repubblica” will feature a full day of live music, Italian draft and bottled beer specials, Italian food vendors, kids’ activities and a spaghetti eating contest. Drunkin’ Cupcake Has Elvis ‘All Shook Up’
Ms Goody Cupcake (1838 East Passyunk Avenue, Philadelphia, PA) debuts new beer-infused desserts to sweeten up Philly Beer Week. Between now and Sunday, June 9, 2013, baker/owner Gigi Andrew puts a spin on her best selling Elvis cupcake with the Drunkin’ Elvis featuring a banana chocolate chip cake, infused with Wells Banana Bread Beer, topped with peanut butter buttercream, and accented with chocolate covered bacon. Additionally, Andrew debuts the Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwich with oatmeal and peanut butter cookies, infused with Wells Banana Bread Beer, filled with peanut butter buttercream.
On June 2, Ms Goody Cupcake will open for Sunday hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM with fifty cents off all cupcakes, beer-infused cake truffles and two additional Philly Beer Week flavors. The popular Youngs Double Chocolate Stout cupcake will return with a beer-infused chocolate cake and buttercream. Flavors of the Avenue is back and bigger than ever! East Passyunk
Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) welcomes a record-setting 25
restaurants to South Philadelphia’s largest outdoor food and drink festival on Saturday,
April 27, 2013, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Enjoy a true taste of East Passyunk as award-winning restaurants and
bars offer samples of their signature dishes and drinks under the cover of a
big top tent between Morris and Dickinson streets. Exciting debuts this year
include Noord, Sophia’s, Will BYOB, Pollyodd, Plenty and Ippolito’s. Outside
the Flavors tent, guests will enjoy a free street festival with vendors and
live music. At the Singing Fountain, Crafty Balboa presents the annual April
Showers craft market from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The event is rain or shine. VIP
tickets are $50 per person and include early access and special perks. General admission tickets at $30. Tickets are on sale today at

In 2013, Flavors of the Avenue will feature more food and drink then ever before from an expanded roster of restaurants that include:
Five restaurants will make their Flavors debut, including the yet-to-open Noord, as well as recently opened Sophia’s and Will BYOB. Other new developments include an upgraded premium cocktail list with selections from the recently opened limoncello shop Pollyodd as well as Lucky 13, Paradiso and Stateside. Craft beer selections will expand with three craft brewers scheduled to be on site. Free valet parking for VIP ticket holders will make the food fun even easier, courtesy of ParkOps. The valet stand at East Passyunk Avenue at Morris Street will also be open for general admission ticket holders for only $8.00.
VIP tickets at $50 each include access from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, which
provides an exclusive hour in the Flavors tent with a limited 300 tickets sold
during this time. Other perks include free valet parking, wine, expanded craft
beer samples from Sixpoint and Weyerbacher, specialty cocktails from Lucky 13,
Paradiso, Pollyodd and Stateside and premium menu items. General admission tickets are $30 each and
include access from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. All tickets are $5.00 off when
purchased before 11:59 PM on April 8, 2013 at

Smokin’ Betty’s and Devil’s Alley will host the 6th “Puppy Love Valentines Party,” on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the 23rd Street Armory (22 S. 23rd Street). This popular Valentine’s themed bash returns to celebrate the one you truly love, your pooch. Ardent animal lovers and upscale comfort food fans will enjoy a night on the town with their dogs. Evening highlights will include cocktails, appetizers by Smokin' Betty's and Devil’s Alley, sweet treats by Ms. Goody Cupcake, silent auction items, live music, dancing, puppy photo booth, red carpet, doggie swag bags and homeless pets available for adoption. Emmy winner, and host and contributor for “Out and About” on philly.com and soon to debut Pets with Papadakis, Maria Papadakis will serve as master of ceremonies and hostess of the doggie red carpet.
For those without a date, the PSPCA will match guests with eligible ‘bachelor and bachelorette’ dogs looking for a home. They will also present a Kitty Korner for those that prefer to flirt with feline adoptables. Finally, an animal behaviorist will provide consultations at a special “Dog House.”
Puppy Love Valentines Party returns in 2013 after taking a “cat nap” in 2012 when the event outgrew the former space.
Since its inception in 2006, the event has attracted 1,000+ attendees and raised nearly $30,000 in ticket sales and in-kind donations. Susan Schlisman, owner of Smokin’ Betty’s and Devil’s Alley, created the event to raise funds for local animal shelters. Passyunk Avenue has been designated as one of three design districts in the
eighth annual DesignPhiladelphia
Festival. East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement District (EPABID) celebrates
its thriving creative economy with a day of workshops, tours, special events
and promotions to coincide with monthly Second Saturday festivities on
Saturday, October 13, 2012. Highlights
include a performance by the Quaker City Mummer String Band, design your own
guitar activity, Mummer costume design contest for kids, art openings, home and
garden tours, and a scavenger hunt. All
activities are free (unless noted) and will run from 11:00am to 10:00pm at
various locations along and around the commercial corridor. For the full list

Scavenger Hunt. Participants will be able to explore some of Philadelphia’s
most innovative street design features from those that reduce storm-water
overflow to those that protect High scoring teams will be eligible to win

B2 Cafe (1500 EPA) will host a reception for the opening of Countdown to (En)Danger, an art show with pieces that express the artists own interpretation of endangered species and the continued risks of extinction. Stop by between 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Proceeds benefit World Wildlife Fund. FREE.
Chhaya (1823 EPA) shows off its seasonal design skills with new fall menu offerings. Enjoy seasonal crepes, Pumpkin Waffles (with pecan syrup and cinnamon whipped cream), Apple Crisp Pancakes (buttermilk pancakes with apple cranberry filling and toasted crumb topping), Pumpkin Spice Chai and Latte, and Dulce de Leche Latte. About DesignPhiladelphia Festival
The eight annual DesignPhiladelphia Festival, in partnership with The University of the Arts, will place a spotlight on Philadelphia’s rich design history and creative industries at work, Wednesday, October 10 through Sunday, October 14, 2012. The citywide Festival will feature five days of non-stop programming championing design, showcasing the work of more than 400 designers and creative thinkers in over 120 public events.
Set in boutiques, galleries, museums, universities, warehouses, public spaces and city streets, DesignPhiladelphia transforms the city into a stage for ideas and designs of the past, present, and future, highlighting the impact design plays in our everyday lives. DesignPhiladelphia envisions a future where innovative design is strongly associated with Philadelphia’s story, well beyond the lore of soft pretzels, Rocky movies and the Liberty Bell.
New to the Festival this year are Design Districts, shaped to showcase the design strengths of Philadelphia’s neighborhoods. Hotspots include: Northern Liberties Wednesday, October 10th, Old City Friday, October 12th, East Passyunk and South Philly Saturday, October 13th, with Citywide Festival Days being presented on Thursday, October 11th and Sunday, October 14, 2012.

Congratulations to East Passyunk Avenue on the record breaking success of the 7th Annual Car Show and Street Festival. More than 7,500 people converged on the Avenue to see the 140+ cars and enjoy the family fun.
