artist and entrepreneur Erica Saben offers
encouraging stories of balancing life’s tightrope at the TEDxMidAtlantic 2012 Conference
on October 26, 2012,

St. NW in Washington, DC. Founder and director of Baltimore-based Charm
City Movement Arts (CCMA), Saben
will harness the event’s
theme, “Be Fearless,” to present a powerful and uplifting platform chronicling her unexpected path to discovering, embracing and being enlivened by the circus arts. This
awakening led her to establish a school of circus and movement arts
in Baltimore that shares her passion with others. If

Saben began performing on professional stages at the age of 12. Her circus career began by accident when she was spotted on stage at the Academy of Music in 2007 by the Give and Take Jugglers. Saben still performs with the Give and Take from time to time as a wire walker, aerialist, obscure puppeteer, and juggler. She has been a tightwire instructor at the Philadelphia School of Circus Arts since its inception, and is the founder and director of Charm City Movement Arts in Baltimore. Saben graduated cum laude from SUNY Brockport with a BS in Dance and Political Science, and received the Political Science Outstanding Student Award as well as the All American Scholar Award.

Baltimore, Maryland, is a space for people in the Baltimore area to be active
and have fun in non-traditional ways. Created by Erica Saben, students of all ages are
