Enjoy a double dose of free fall fun with Spooky Saturday and Fall Festival, on Saturday,
October 27, 2012, from 11:00am to
4:00pm, on the streets surrounding the Singing
Fountain (EPA and Tasker Street). The East Passyunk Avenue Business
Improvement District (EPABID) presents a spooktacular Halloween celebration
with fun for children, adults and even fido too!
Spooky Saturday festivities include costume contests, trick or treating, pumpkin painting, cider, pet treats, art lessons and temporary tattoos by Alphabet Academy (1720 EPA) . Fall Festival celebrates the sights and sounds of autumn with live music by Willie, We Are Fauna and Rooster & Squire. Charm City Movement Arts bring the big top fun with circus performances. Ms Goody Cupcake (1838 EPA) will be on hand with deliciously creepy cupcakes that will have children screaming (in delight). Nice Things…Handmade (1731 EPA) presents a craft show featuring local artists. Stateside (1536 EPA) will pour seasonal craft beer and have the kitchen open.
In the event of rain, Fall Festival music and craft show will be cancelled. Spooky Saturday’s costume contest, circus performance and trick or treating will move inside of Urban Jungle (1526 EPA).
‘A haunting you will go’ around the Singing Fountation with a full lineup of activities. Times and details are below:

4:00pm – Fall
Festival
Over 40 artists will be on hand
for a craft show organized by Nice Things.. Handmade. Future little artists
will enjoy children’s drawing and art lessons by Young Rembrants. Ms Goody Cupcake will have spooktacular treats
and Halloween-themed cupcakes. Music during the day will include Willie
(acoustic family favorites), We Are Fauna (acoustic rock) and Rooster &
Squire (bluegrass). Tarot card readings will be
provided by Angela Ranalli (Le Virtu’s pastry chef) for $20 a reading.

1:15pm – Circus Comes to Town
Charm City Movement Arts will present tightwire
demos and circus performances for kids of all ages.

- 12:00pm – Temporary Tattoos
Alphabet Academy helps children get into the
haunting mood with spooky temporary tattoos outside of the Alphabet Aquarium
location (1720 EPA).
11:00am –
1:00pm – Costume Contest
Prizes will be awarded to children and pets for the funniest,
scariest and most original costumes.
Guest judges will join the fun from Frugal Philly Mom (for children’s
contest) and Philly Loves Fun (for pets’ contest). Times for judging are staggered based on
ages: 11:00am Ages 4 and under; 11:30am Ages 5 to 8; 12:00pm Ages 9 to 12; and 12:30pm pets.

1:00pm – Family Fun
Children can safely trick or treat around the Singing Fountain
until 1:00pm. Children are invited to make a souvenir of their time on East
Passyunk by painting a pumpkin. Cider and snacks will be provided. Pet treats
will be available too!
1:00pm –
4:00pm – Seasonal Brews
Stateside will be open early
with a selection of seasonal craft beers (ages 21 and up).
4:00pm – 2:00am – Award Winning Food and Drink
Stay after Fall Festival
for seasonal
brews, specialty cocktails and award winning food at bars, pubs and restaurants
along EPABID.
East Passyunk Avenue Business Improvement
District is home to over 150 independently-owned shops and restaurants. Activities along EPABID are easily accessible by SEPTA via the Broad
Street Line and several bus lines. Taxis are also accessible on Broad Street.
