Queer 2 The T, the #1 Queer Sound, plans to provide the LGBTQ community with political commentary, nightlife happenings and arts & culture events through online radio programming. The hosts aim to embrace all communities and provide a protected environment to examine the similarities in our "differences". Coupled with community initiatives,Queer 2 The T, strives to merge what has been coined "gay" and "hetero-normative" into the unified category of humanity by addressing many topics with on-air interviews, outreach and reviews from local and global listenership. Queer 2 The T is more than a radio show; it is a safe space for queer identified, gay, lesbian, transgender, straight and straight allies to convene to discuss concerns and info-tainment.
About TS Hawkins
According to the PGN, Hawkins is the "sunniest and bubbliest of the trio and usually the calm center that steers the show." She is an internationally recognized author, performance poet, actor and wedding officiant. Her previous publications, Sugar Lumps and Black Eye Blues, Confectionately Yours, Mahogany Nectar and [Lil Blæk Book] All the Long Stories Short have been well received in print and radio media since 2007. Expanding her writing skill set, Hawkins will release her first book for teens titled Black Suga: diary of a troublesome teenager, which will debut in mid 2013 along with her first children's book titled Poetry Schmo-etry. Soon to complete her 7th publication The Hotel Haikus, she will be headlining the Authors Under 30 Book Tour promoting this work. SWAGGER at TASHAN keeps the summer fun going with August’s edition of Philadelphia’s hottest new LGBT party. On Thursday, August 16, 2012, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, SWAGGER presents a night of top shelf drink specials, exquisite cuisine and a new beneficiary. Guests are invited to Tashan, 777 S. Broad Street, to experience award-winning flavors in an unparalleled atmosphere. Half priced specials include top shelf liquors, wines, beers, specialty cocktails and select small bites. Free hors d’oeuvre samples and door prizes will round out the festivities. Equality PA will receive a portion of proceeds from the event. Admission is free. Valet parking is available.
August drink specials will include half off of ALL drinks between 6:00pm and 8:00pm. Tashan’s selection of fine liquors is incomparable in quality and variety. In addition to excellent single malt scotches like Glenfiddich and The Macallan (aged 12 to 18 years), Tashan features rare and exclusive Indian Amrut scotches. Tashan currently holds the last available bottle of Amrut Two Continents in Philadelphia. Even this rarity is half priced at SWAGGER. Specialty cocktails will include the Adrack mixed with Espolon Reposado tequila, Jin Ja ginger juice and agave syrup, and the Dhoom, a drink made with Macallan 10 and peach puree. All fine wines, whiskies (Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Hudson), vodkas (Ultimat), tequilas (el Jimador Añejo, Don Julio) and campaigns will also be part of the special. At 8:00pm, the drink special will change to half priced select wines, draft beer and well drinks.
Select small bites will also be half price between 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Specials will include the Naga Beef Sumi, made with Snake River Farm Wagyu, a Soy-Naga reduction, onion Pakora and a cucumber-peanut relish, and the Xacutti Pork Tenderloin, cooked with palm vinegar, a 21 spice Xacutti marinade and Aloo soufflé. Tashan is also open for dinner seating during SWAGGER.
A portion of proceeds from SWAGGER is directed to a different local LGBT charity each month. August’s beneficiary is Equality PA, the only organization in the Commonwealth advocating in Harrisburg exclusively for the rights of LGBT Pennsylvanians.
